Originally from Anderson, South Carolina, Councilwoman Wendy Helms has proudly served on the Awendaw Town Council since December 2023.

She has dedicated her time to serving others through leadership roles with the Junior League of Charleston, the Drawing Near to God Women's Ministry, and as a Lay Reader at St. Andrew's Anglican Church. Councilwoman Helms is the wife of Clay Helms and the proud mother of their daughter, Collins.
