Originally from upstate South Carolina, Wendy has lived in Awendaw since 2021. She also serves as a board member for the Junior League of Charleston, a small group leader with a women's ministry called Drawing Near to God, and a lay reader for St Andrews Church.
Currently, Wendy assists her husband with their company, Marshview Painting. Their daughter, Collins, will start first grade this fall.  Councilwoman Helms also serves as the Vice Chair on the Administrative Committee.
