Picture
Katharine E. Watkins, MPA, is a proud 2015 graduate of the College of Charleston, where she earned her bachelor's degree in Finance with a minor in Hospitality and Tourism. She went on to complete her Master of Public Administration with honors from the same institution in 2021.
Katharine began her career in municipal government with the City of Folly Beach, serving from May 2015 to June 2021. She started as an Administrative Assistant and was later promoted to Municipal Clerk. In July 2021, she joined the Town of Seabrook Island as Town Clerk/Treasurer and was subsequently elevated to Assistant Town Administrator, a role she held until December 2024. In January 2025, Katharine brought her experience and leadership to her current position with the Town.
Throughout her public service career, Katharine has developed deep expertise in a wide range of municipal functions, including finance and procurement, FOIA compliance, human resources, IT implementation, strategic planning, building and zoning, utilities, and public works.
Outside of work, Katharine enjoys spending time in the kitchen, exploring new destinations with friends and family, and taking long walks with her beloved dog, Guinness. Her passion for community and connection shines through in everything she does.
