Rodney Porcher has served on Town Council since 2009.  A lifelong resident of Awendaw, he serves as the Chairperson for the Public Safety Committee.  Mr. Porcher attended Lincoln High School, Trident Technical School and the Charleston Naval Shipyard Apprenticeship Program.  Mr. Porcher has worked at Nucor Steel for 16 years. Prior to this occupation, he worked at the Charleston Naval Shipyard and Westvaco.

Mr. Porcher is a member of Mt. Nebo AME Church and serves on their Steward Board.  He is also a member of Buckhall Lodge 423. He is married to Rosalyn Goodwine Porcher and has three children.
