Town of Awendaw Comprehensive Plan Campaign

The Town of Awendaw is beginning to design the new 10-year comprehensive plan. The 10-year comprehensive plan is an ordered process that determines community goals and aspirations in terms of community development. The end product is called a comprehensive plan, also known as a general plan or master plan. The plan must be updated every five years and a new plan every ten. The process includes community and public workshops, the creation of steering committees, and outside resources, and closes with two readings from Town Council. As the Town of Awendaw begins this journey, we will keep you up-to-date on the latest information, public workshops, and more. In the month of October, Town Council created the Town of Awendaw Comprehensive Steering Committee. This is a nine-member board comprised of (3) Council members, (2) BZA members, (1) Planning Commissioner, and (3) individuals from the general public. Applications for individuals from the general public who desire to be on the committee can download the application here and bring it to Townhall. The deadline to submit an application is on November 30, 2022.
