Sandbags Available at Town Hall

9/26/2025

Town of Awendaw officials are closely monitoring AL94, a disturbance in the Central Caribbean Sea/Southwestern Atlantic, and remain in close communication with Charleston County Emergency Management.

The disturbance is expected to develop into a named storm in the coming days, potentially affecting the South Carolina coast. However, it is still too early to determine whether our area will experience any impacts.

To prepare for possible effects, the Town of Awendaw has ordered 1,000 sandbags and sand to be delivered to Town Hall at 6971 Doar Road. Residents who would like to obtain sandbags can do so at any time, but they must bring their own shovel. Sandbags will be available while supplies last.

The Town will continue to provide updates as the weekend progresses.
