Notice of Change for the Public Hearing Scheduled on June 5, 2025

The public hearing on the following ordinances has been postponed.
  • Ordinance 2025-09: An Ordinance to Adopt the 2025-2026 Fiscal Year General Fund for the Town of Awendaw, SC, Starting July 1, 2025, and Ending June 30, 2026.
  • Ordinance 2025-10: An Ordinance to Adopt the 2025-2026 Fiscal Year Water Fund for the Town of Awendaw, SC, Starting July 1, 2025, and Ending June 30, 2026.
We will send out another notification when a new time has been scheduled for the second reading and public hearing.
The Council will still hold a public hearing on June 5 at 6:30 pm on the following ordinances:
  • Ordinance 2025-11: Annexation Ordinance using 100 Percent Petition Method of Tax Map Number 664-00-00-042 (6150 Jibe Court).
  • Ordinance 2025-12: Annexation Ordinance using 100 Percent Petition Method of Tax Map Number 664-00-00-045 (6108 Jibe Court).
  • Ordinance 2025-13: Annexation Ordinance using 100 Percent Petition Method of Tax Map Number 664-00-00-011 (6495 Come About Way).
  • Ordinance 2025-14: Annexation Ordinance using 100 Percent Petition Method of Tax Map Number 664-00-00-083 (6237 Rudder Lane).
  • Ordinance 2025-15: Annexation Ordinance using 100 Percent Petition Method of Tax Map Number 664-00-00-076 (6101 Rudder Lane).

The Town Council of Awendaw, South Carolina, will hold a public hearing on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at 6:30 PM at Town Hall located at 6971 Doar Road, Awendaw, SC 29429, on the following ordinances:
  • Ordinance 2025-09: An Ordinance to Adopt the 2025-2026 Fiscal Year General Fund for the Town of Awendaw, SC, Starting July 1, 2025, and Ending June 30, 2026.
  • Ordinance 2025-10: An Ordinance to Adopt the 2025-2026 Fiscal Year Water Fund for the Town of Awendaw, SC, Starting July 1, 2025, and Ending June 30, 2026.
  • Ordinance 2025-11: Annexation Ordinance using 100 Percent Petition Method of Tax Map Number 664-00-00-042 (6150 Jibe Court).
  • Ordinance 2025-12: Annexation Ordinance using 100 Percent Petition Method of Tax Map Number 664-00-00-045 (6108 Jibe Court).

Are you interested in serving on a town board, commission or committee? The Council is currently soliciting applications from citizen volunteers for appointment to fill the unexpired term on the Board of Zoning Appeals (Aug. 2025). Please use this link for more information about the board.

If you are interested in serving on the board, please fill out the Applicaiton for Appointment. Once completed, please submit a copy to the Town Administrator, Katharine Watkins in Town Hall or via email: [email protected]. 

The council will make the appointment to fill the vacancy during the June 5 Town Council meeting.

The Town Council of Awendaw, South Carolina, will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 7:00 PM at Town Hall located at 6971 Doar Road, Awendaw, SC 29429, on the following ordinances:
  • Ordinance 2025-03: An Ordinance to Amend Chapter 153, Zoning Code, Section 153.010 of the Code of the Town of Awendaw, South Carolina, Amending the Adopted Moratorium to Include Provisions for Annexations.
  • Ordinance 2025-05: An Ordinance to Amend Chapter 153, Zoning Code, to add Subsection 153.400, Variances, to Provide the Outline Required Criterion for the Board of Zoning Appeals to Grant a Variance Request.
  • Ordinance 2025-06: An Ordinance to Repeal and Replace Chapter 153, Zoning Code, Subsection 153.195, Significant Tree Protection, to Strengthen the Preservation of Trees. 
  • Ordinance 2025-07: An Ordinance to Amend Chapter 153, Zoning Code, Subsection 153.027, R- Residential, to Increase the Lot Size in the Residential Zoning District.
