Additional Public Hearing Notice April 2, 2026

The Town Council of Awendaw, South Carolina, will hold a public hearing on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 6:30 PM at Town Hall located at 6971 Doar Road, Awendaw, SC 29429, on the following ordinances:

• Ordinance 2026-10: An ordinance of the Town of Awendaw, South Carolina, to amend Title XV: Land Usage, Chapter 153: Zoning Code, General Provisions of the Code of the Town of Awendaw, South Carolina, by Amending Section 153.009 Definitions, adopting a new Section 153.051 Vested Rights, along with new Sections 152.052 through 153.060 thereto, providing for vested rights ordinance and procedure.
• Ordinance 2026-11: An ordinance of The Town of Awendaw, South Carolina, to amend Title XV: Land Usage, Chapter 153: Zoning Code, Section 153.009 Definitions to include a definition of “Structure.”

Anyone who desires to submit written comments may mail them to (PO Box 520), email them to the Town Administrator, Katharine Watkins ([email protected]), or submit them through the website by clicking the ordinance titles before 12:00 pm on April 1, 2026.
A copy of the draft ordinances is available for viewing at Town Hall during regular business hours (Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM) or on the town’s website.
